Osteosarcoma: My Battle

Osteosarcoma: My Battle

I never thought I’d end up here, fighting a battle I never thought I’d face. A few months ago, I was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer. Being only 19, this was a life-changing moment.

My world halted, and I was suddenly facing life and death decisions. On the one hand, I had to fight and do what was needed to survive. On the other, I wanted to give up, to just succumb to the pain, fear and uncertainty.

I had to rely upon my family and friends for support, love and understanding through every step of this journey. Treatment was grueling, painful and exhausting. Yet, I persevered and finished my chemotherapy regimen.

My recovery was a long and windy road. I had to stay strong, emotionally and physically. Every day was a battle to stay positive, trusting that one day I would win this fight.

I’m proud to say that I’m now cancer-free. Life has its moments of joy and pain, and being a survivor has given me strength, courage and hope that I can take on any challenge. Through my experience with Osteosarcoma, I’m proud to be able to stand tall and be a fighter.
