I was 14 when I first noticed it, excessive sweating and I was mortified. I had Hyperhidrosis, a medical condition that meant my body produces too much sweat. At first, my family and friends joked about it, but as it kept happening, embarrassment sunk in. I didn’t want to go out with anyone, and even in class, I was terrified of what people would think.
My doctor prescribed me medicine, which helped to some degree, but the psychological impact was and is still very real. Every day, I battle the same worries, that people are looking and judging me. It’s a struggle to stay confident and enjoy life, but I’m determined to fight through it.
