As I lay in my bed, my body wracked with pain, I ponder how I got here – with a stomach bug that is practically tearing me apart. I know I hadn’t eaten anything bad, so it must be something else. It was only later in the day that I got the news – I had Norovirus.
I never knew something like a stomach bug could be so powerful and devastate me in such a short amount of time. I had begun to experience typical symptoms like vomiting, abdominal cramps and pain, nausea, and diarrhea. I had no energy and every time I moved my stomach felt like it was on fire. I was completely weakened and unable to tend to myself.
The doctor told me that Norovirus was a highly contagious virus, and that I would need to take extra precautions to protect myself and others from spreading it. He ran a few tests and gave me antibiotics to help with the symptoms. I had to stay in isolation for some time and make sure that I was careful to wash my hands and cover my mouth when I sneezed or coughed.
Although I was pretty sick, I was pleased to hear that Norovirus usually only lasts for a few days. In the end, I was able to make a full recovery and get back on my feet. I still take extra precautions when it comes to my health and make sure to take my supplements and drink plenty of fluids to stay healthy.
Norovirus was an experience that I wouldn’t wish upon anyone. It was a scary time for me, but I am glad that I was able to make a full recovery. Now I know that hygiene, supplements, and rest are the key to staying healthy and avoiding the dreaded Norovirus.
