Chronic Headache

My name is Janice, and I have chronic headaches. For years I have struggled to cope with the physical and emotional pain that comes alongside the throbbing in my temples. It has been an incredibly difficult battle to fight, but I’m determined to overcome this.

My usual method is to seek out medical help, and to keep track of my headaches and their triggers. When nothing else works I can always seek out the comfort of a friend or family member who can help me to cope.

I also find that managing my stress is key to reducing the frequency and intensity of my headaches. I focus on activities that relax and take my mind off the pain, such as reading, drawing and meditation. I use hot and cold therapy, as well as over the counter medications to aid me in my journey to healing.

Though my headaches still affect me, I am thankful that I have found a way to cope with them. I am determined to live my life, and chronic headaches will not hold me back.
